Welcome to Embassy Unfiltered

Sometimes it can be hard to envision just how much work goes into some of the biggest construction projects in the UK. The challenges and complexities involved, from the design and planning phase to the final build, are not always highlighted. That’s where Embassy Unfiltered comes in.

Join our Higher Sites reporter, Billy Herring, for our brand-new documentary series aiming to showcase the hard work of everyone who makes our business tick. The series follows our staff as they explain how their day-to-day task affects the smooth running of the business.

Reducing The Skills Gap

It’s no secret that the construction industry needs to combat the skills gap. Estimates from the CITB see the industry needing 225,000 additional workers to meet UK construction demand by 2027. Progress towards this target has been slow and this is a real problem.

Our goal with the new series is to help promote construction to those who may have a negative image of those who work in industry due to stereotypes. This will hopefully break these perceptions and allow the true talent of our industry to shine through.

We also want to inform people that there is much more to the construction industry than what is visible. Whilst the public sees our scaffolders and roofers out on-site, there is a whole team of people who make our business and the construction industry tick.

A New Generation of Construction

Young people are the future of our industry and we need to do more to promote the industry to the next generation. Through this new series and the use of TikTok, we aim to reach the younger generation and make the industry as appealing as possible to a whole new audience.

We must highlight progression pathways so that young people see construction as a career rather than just a job. That’s why interviewing members of our team who have worked their way through the ranks is so important.

It also helps highlight the variation of jobs that are available, For health and safety, contacts management to transport and general management there are so many hidden careers that dont get the airtime they deserve, something we are actively trying to change!
