Making Health & Safety Accessible: Work Mates Tales Is Back

Meet Bob and Trevor. Two mates. Two very different approaches to working on site. And the most effective health and safety resource we’ve ever created.

At Embassy Site Services, we’ve always believed that culture is everything. Our team is a tight-knit collective, dedicated to delivering the best for our clients in the safest possible way. Work Mates Tales is how we bring that culture to life.

What is Work Mates Tales?

ork Mates Tales is an AI-powered animation series following Bob and Trevor — lifelong friends and fellow construction workers. Bob works for Embassy. Trevor doesn’t.

Through a range of real-world scenarios, the series demonstrates the health and safety standards we expect on site, and the behaviours that define the Embassy way. AI-powered animation allows us to recreate situations that would be impossible, or unsafe, to film in real life, giving us a powerful new way to communicate what matters most.

We created Bob and Trevor to show our appreciation to our staff, educate the next generation, and share what makes Embassy different.

Who is Bob?

Bob has worked for Embassy Site Services for many years. He knows his responsibilities inside out, and upholds the highest standards of health and safety on every job.

He doesn’t just follow the rules – he lives and breathes the Embassy way.

Who is Trevor?

Trevor is an experienced scaffolder, but he hasn’t yet embraced the safety culture that the modern industry demands. He’s not a bad person but he’s just stuck in old habits, taking what seem like quicker routes to get the job done.

Most people in construction will recognise a Trevor. Some might even see a bit of themselves in him.

That’s exactly the point.

Who is Work Mates Tales for?

Work Mates Tales is primarily a resource for Embassy Academy, our in-house training programme, but we’re making it freely available to the wider industry on our website and dedicated Work Mates Tales social media channels.

For our team and apprentices, the series brings health and safety to life in a way that’s engaging, memorable and easy to relate to. Whether you’re on day one or have years of experience, Bob and Trevor serve as both an introduction and a timely reminder of the standards we uphold.

For schools, colleges and young people — Bob and Trevor are also available to educators looking to introduce students to construction careers. By giving the series a relatable, entertaining and educational style, we want to remove some of the barriers that put young people off considering a career in our industry.

The skills gap in construction is real, and closing it starts with inspiration. Work Mates Tales is one of the ways Embassy Site Services is playing its part to address this.
