Embassy Supports No Falls From Height Week 2024

In May, Embassy Site Services are supporting the first-ever No Falls Week, organised by the No Falls Foundation.

We will be using our social media channels to promote safe working practices as well as highlight the important work carried out by the No Falls Foundation

About the No Falls Foundation

The No Falls Foundation is the first and only UK-based charity devoted exclusively to the work-at-height sector. The Foundation is dedicated to preventing falls from height and helping people affected by the life-changing consequences of a fall.

The No Falls Foundation’s 3 key priorities are to prevent, research and support.

Falls from heights are consistently the leading cause of workplace fatalities in the U.K. The latest figures from the HSE show that 40 people lost their lives due to a fall from height in 2022-2023. Falls from height were responsible for 30% of all workplace deaths.

Here is what Hannah Williams, Charity Manager at The No Falls Foundation, had to say about our involvement in the initiative:

“The No Falls Foundation, as the only UK charity dedicated to the work-at-height sector, is committed to preventing falls from height and supporting those who have been affected by a fall. We know that industries such as scaffolding and roofing incur the risk of working at height but believe everyone who works at height deserves to come back down safely. That’s why we are delighted that organisations such as Embassy Site Services are participating in No Falls Week to champion work at height safety.”

Our Mission

As a scaffolding and roofing company, it is our obligation to ensure that we support these initiatives towards making our industry as safe as it can be. Our management team take Health & Safety extremely seriously, and the safety of our staff, clients and the public is at the forefront of everything we do.

Scaffolding and Roofing projects can have a huge impact on the immediate environment in which they are carried out, and Embassy always make every effort to minimise that impact. We are committed to achieving a 100% CISRS workforce. Our team are constantly looking for ways to update and improve our practices and our management systems for Health & Safety.

Our in-house health and safety department is at the forefront of our work-at-height training through our Academy to ensure that all our employees understand the risks of working at height and why it is so important to follow the correct regulations.

Training is carried out right from the first day of employment all the way through, with regular refresher training undertaken by all of our staff.

Our Senior Health and Safety Advisor, Seb Lik, kept it straightforward with his message for this week:

“Preventing falls from heights is easy when you follow three simple steps: awareness, planning, and action. These steps will help you protect lives and prevent accidents.”
