Project Overview
- Located at the old Blind Veterans UK building, is a brand new development , which will see luxury apartments created on this coastal plot utilising the historic building.
- This heritage has been lovingly preserved and reimagined, blending historic charm with contemporary sophistication including eco features such as solar panels and green roofs to create a truly unique residential offering.
- Our Roofing Division secured the Soprema system re-roof package
- Our scaffolding division is providing access for our roofing team as well as other trades, with Mick and Ashley heading up the operation down on the south coast.
Project Key Challenges
- The site’s coastal location provided some challenges, mainly due to windy conditions affecting both crane operations and the roofers working safely and effectively.
- The existing roofing system was full of water, so an overlay was not possible, therefore we provided a full re-roof solution.
- As with any scaffolding project, adjustments to the design have been made along the way to ensure that our scaffolders can work safely and efficiently.
- Because of the unique shape of the building, loading scaffolding materials during the build was a key challenge for the team to overcome.
